I haven't really talked much about this whole moving situation...
I honestly don't know where to begin though! So I guess the begining is a good place, right? Well Chris had his interview at Savage on December 9th, I took the day off and we drove out to Vernal. He thought the interview went really well, and we were both hopeful. I think it was the next Monday, maybe Tuesday, he got a call saying that he got the job, and they wanted him to start Monday, the 20th!! He told RC Willey that the 17th would be his last day, and it all began.
We started thinking about who could take over a lease, where will we live, all the good stuff. So Chris drove to Vernal on the 19th and, as you know, has been staying with my parents. Which I think is a good thing. I think that it has helped his relationship with them a lot! They seem to be getting more comfortable with eachother now, which makes me very happy! :)
So Chris spent the week in Vernal... A lonely week for me! I spent the week cleaning, packing, anything to keep me occupied! During that week I also tried to find someone to take over our lease. We originally asked David, Kimmy and their significant others, but they decided that now wasn't a good time. So I posted the apt on KSL and started asking around. Our neighbor, Jessica, said she had someone that was interested and they went and filled out an application and everything. We found out that they were approved, and I am just hoping that it really goes through! This lady, apparently, doesn't work. She is planning on paying rent with student loans that she gets on Jan. 5th. So nothing is really set in stone, which makes me nervous. I really hope this lady doesn't bail on us and completely screw us over. I really don't think she will though, I mean, she is getting a pretty sweet deal! We are paying her deposit for her (which should be enough right there) and we are also leaving a sofa and a love seat for her. She gets our price for the apt, which is a pretty good deal! We are paying at least $100/month less then each of our neighbors. So she is really getting a good deal, and would be stupid to flake on us. But there is still that chance that it could happen, so I am just hoping that it all works out.
My last day of work is tomorrow. :-S I am scared. I really don't want to be unemployed again. It is not a fun thing for me. So I am also hoping that I can find work fast in Vernal. We won't need the money, but we will be able to pay off so much debt, and I would just go crazy sitting around doing nothing all day! It will be good for me to get out of the house. So that's another one of my worries.
The next is finding a place to live. It has been really hard for me because there is so much to do... And I can't really do anything yet. It's been hard to find a place to live because:
#1 None of the apartments out there have a website, so it's kind of hard to look when I'm still in Salt Lake.
#2 It has been the Holiday Season. Last time I was out there was Christmas Eve, everywhere was closed. Next time I will be out there will be New Years Eve, everywhere will probably be closed...
I will be going to Vernal Friday morning (New Years Eve), and I am really hoping that I will be able to walk through some apts, and that they have something available, like, immediately! I want to be out of our apartment in Salt Lake ASAP because the sooner we are out, the more money we get back. So what I'm hoping will happen, is we will find a place on Friday, sign all the paperwork, and be able to move in that weekend, or the begining of the next week.... BUT those chances are very slim.
That is why I have a plan B: if we can't look at apartments on New Years Eve, or if they don't have anything available ASAP, I would like to move everything out of the apartment in Salt Lake, and put it in storage in Vernal. Then, we stay with my parents for a little while. I will have all of next week to find an apartment and, again, hopefully they have somthing available ASAP. So we move everything from storage to that apartment and we're good.
Plan C: I don't really want a Plan C... I want A or B to work! LOL But worst case, we can't move out of the apt in Salt Lake when we wanted. We leave our crap there, I go stay with Mom and Dad, and try to find somewhere to live. Then, just move everything from apt to apt and skip the storage unit phase... And hopefully it still only takes like a week to find a place...
I am hoping to finish all of the packing by Thursday night, so Plan A can work... I have most of it done... I think... Ok, maybe not most of it... But some. All I have left to do is the kitchen (which is a big job in itself.. I haven't even started on the kitchen yet), the linen closet, some blankets, my clothes, and bathroom stuff... I really think that's it, but it probably isn't lol. I'm going to work my butt of tonight to get it all done, so I can go to dinner with some friends tomorrow.
I am hoping that everything will fall into place and just work out! But I am really scared that it won't. I'm scared that it will take forever to find a place, I'm scared of our money situation... Chris' last day at RC Willey was the 17th, right? They were supposed to mail him his last check. Today is the 29th and we still have no check... We had to bust into our wedding fund to pay rent for January. I'm just scared that we're going to run out of money. Renting a truck is freakin expensive! Plus the gas, the deposit and rent for the new place... Ugh, money... I'm scared that I won't be able to find a job out there. I'm scared that I will hate Vernal. I'm scared to leave what I know. I'm just scared... And I'm sure I will be until it all falls into place.

Christmas 2010
Christmas was so much fun this year!
Chris was already in Vernal, so I drove out there after I got off work on Thursday, the 23rd. We spent the night there, Santa came early because Kyleigh and Kaitlyn were going to be at their Dad's on Christmas morning. David couldn't be there because he couldn't get off work, and Chris had to go to work early that morning :( So not EVERYONE was there, but it was nice to get most of us together. It was still lots of fun though, and I got some pretty good pictures (that will hopefully be coming soon!)
Santa brought everyone a Wii, and Kyleigh and Kaitlyn's faces when they opened it were just priceless! It was way cute... Santa also brought Mom, Dad, and Kyleigh new phones, and Kaitlyn got her first phone! She was so excited! And Kimmy got an Ipod touch from Santa this year.
After we opened gifts we had breakfast and played with the new toys. Then Dad went to sleep, he had just gotten off of a graveyard shift, and everyone else started heading back to Salt Lake. I stuck around and waited for Chris to get off work so we could ride back and go to his family's Christmas Eve stuff. So he didn't end up getting home until like 6. But we hopped right in the truck and headed back. We got to his Dad's at about 9:30, so we hung out with his Dad, step-mom, most of his siblings, and Aunt Toni, Uncle Bill, and cousins, Jeremy and Alyssa until about 11:30. It was a lot of fun, we don't get to see them very often.
After that, our friends Cody and Rachel REALLY wanted to see us because they had gifts for us. So we dropped by our other friend Derek and Vonee's (where Cody and Rachel were hanging out at the time) and visited for a little while.
There is a bit of a story behind the gift they gave me though. We usually go to a bar called Five Monkey's for Monday Night Football, then hop over to Club 48 to play claw machine. SO there was this GreenBay beanie in the claw machine that I had probably spent at least 20 dollars trying to get. So Cody and Rachel thought it would be funny to buy me one. So they, being the sweethearts that they are (I love those two!) got me a GreenBay Packers beanie, and they got Chris a Minnesota Vikings mug. But we were both SO exhausted from that day, and the drive home that we didn't stay very long. We went home and went to bed!
Then we woke up the next morning at about 8 - 8:30 to go back to Chris' Dad's to open presents with them. We didn't have any presents to open at home this year, because Santa had gotten us a shotgun (that we both helped pick out), tickets to the Jazz VS Bulls game (which Chris had found about a week early), and the movie Despicable Me (that we opened the night before to watch while we fell asleep.)
We got to Charlie's (Chris' Dad) at 9 and had breakfast with them, then we started opening presents. Which was a lot of fun! Izzi (his neice) got a play kitchen from Santa and she loved it! We all got socks from Dad and Lisa (of course!) And we hung out there until about 1 o'clock. Chris and I then went home to shower, because it was a pajama party at Dad and Lisa's :)
Then we went to Chris' Aunt Jeanine's for a little while, and then to Grandma and Grandpa Colbert's. We hung out there for a few hours, opened presents, had some dinner. Then we went to Chris' friend, Chase's house for about an hour. Then home after that.
Unfortunately I didn't get to see my dad on Christmas Day. He was stuck back in Vernal for work... I did make sure to call him and wish him a Merry Christmas. I felt bad for him though! Even though we did our Christmas thing the day before, and he got to be there for that, it would be hard to spend Christmas all alone. I think he spent most of it sleeping though, because he's on the graveyard shift this month... But I hope that he still had a good Christmas :(
All in all, it was a really good Christmas for us! I had a lot of fun, and was glad that we got to visit with everyone for a little while at least. It was nice to spend it with family and loved ones!
Again, hopefully I will have pictures soon!

BIG Update!
So I am going to attempt to do this again lol. I hope I don't leave anything out, I thought I did really well last night. Let's hope I can do it again!
SO... Everyone is still doing well. Mom and Dad are married again, and they have been doing really well. Dad got a job at a place called Savage, so they are now living out in Vernal. It is a really good job. He has been there for a few months now and he loves it. Plus, Mom doesn’t have to work, so it has been really good for them.
David is currently living with Kristin. He just turned 20 *weird*, and he just started a new job at Musician’s Friend. So he is doing pretty well, he’s still just as big of a goof ball as ever. I freakin love that kid!
Kimberly is living with Mom and Dad in Vernal, for now. I think she likes it out there most days, but some days she wants to come back toSalt Lake . So I don’t know if she’ll last out there. I don’t think she likes being away from her boyfriend. But other than that, she is doing well. She got a job at Dominos out there, and I think she likes it.
Kyleigh is in 3rd grade now, wow how time flies. It seems like just yesterday that she learned to walk! That’s crazy! Anyway, back to focusing lol. This kid is just awesome! She is so smart, she is good in school, she is still just the biggest sweetheart. I love her.
Kaitlyn is in 2nd grade now. This still just amazes me. I can’t believe time is going by this fast! … But she is doing well. This kid is a riot, a complete and total riot! She says the funniest things, and is always making people laugh. She is smart, and already has an awesome sense of humor! I wouldn’t trade either of these kids for the world.
They have both adjusted well to Mom and Dad getting married again. They were so excited to have him as their stepdad! He is so good with them, he has always treated them like they were his own, and he loves them as if they were his own. Which I think is awesome. I look up to my dad a lot for that.
Chris and I are still together and going strong! We are actually engaged now! J We will be getting married on June 3, 2011.
He proposed to me on October 16, 2010. It was cute. So here’s how it happened…
I knew that he was going to buy a ring, we had talked about it, I knew he had the money saved up, and all that. So for a while there, I would bring it up a lot. Then I decided that I didn’t want to pressure him into anything. He had already been married once before and, obviously, it didn’t work out. So I wanted him to do it when he was ready, and because he wanted to do it. So I decided that I would stop bringing it up. Well, as soon as I stopped, he started lol. Torture, right? So I tried not to think about it even though he was talking about it! Then one Saturday, October 9th to be exact, we were sitting on the couch trying to decide what to do that day. Chris said, “We could go buy a ring.” I originally had told him that I wanted him to pick it out, but I thought, ‘well, if this is the only way for it to happen, then let’s do it.’ Plus, when he proposed to his ex, she didn’t like the ring. She made him pick out a new one. So I knew that was why he wanted me to help. So I agreed.
We went to the Credit Union and got the money out and went to Shane Co. We browsed around for a little while, tried a few on, but nothing really caught my eye. Then Chris calls me over to look at one that he had found. We pulled it out, tried it on, they got the diamond to see what it would look like, and all that stuff. It was perfect, it IS perfect. And Chris found it all by himself!
We paid for the ring and they said it would be ready in about a week. Longest week EVER! LOL So the next Saturday Chris went to pick it up while I was at work. When I got home from work, I tried not to think about it, tried not to say anything, I wanted him to do it when he was ready to. So we went to lunch at Macaroni Grill. And on the way there, Chris was driving, and he had his cargo shorts on… So as he’s driving, I could have sworn that there was a ring box in his pocket. I swore I could see the shape of a box in there, so it was just killing me! Plus, he went this weird way to Macaroni Grill, so the whole time I’m thinking that he has something planned out, and I kept asking him where he was going, and he would just say that we were going to lunch.
So we get there, no unexpected stops, just a REALLY strange route. We’re sitting there eating when he says, “So, I have a really important question to ask you, and I don’t know how to do it.” So I replied, “Honestly, I don’t care how you do it, I just want you to do it!” Then he says, “Well it’s in my pocket right now.” “Really?!?” “No, it’s hidden at home.” What a butt head!
So we finish our lunch and go back home. When we got there, I just sat down on the couch and turned on the TV, trying not to think about it. Chris sat down next to me, looked at me, and said, “It’s just killing you, isn’t it?” “Yeah, pretty much!” “Well I’ll tell you what, if you can find it, you can have it.” “If that’s how you want to do it, that’s fine. But this is your deal. I can wait if you want me to.”
So, I ended up playing hide and seek with this ring. The first place I looked was the closet in our spare bedroom, because that’s where I would hide stuff. So I go in there and open the closet door, and all this junk comes falling out (that is one of our junk closets.) So I figure, ‘it’s not in there or it would have all fallen out when he put it in there.’ So I move on to the closet in our bedroom. I looked in there, and there was nothing. Then Chris, who had been following me around, said, “Maybe we should start playing hot or cold.” “Ok, let’s play!” “No.” Ok… So I said, “Well at least give me a hint!” “It’s in a closet.” Ok. That kind of narrows it down. So I go into our dining room closet (our other junk closet) and open it. Then I asked, “Is it in plain sight, or do I have to dig for it?” “Well, if you know what you’re looking for, it’s in plain sight.” Ok, not in there, then I go look in the linen closet, not there… Now I’m running out of closets, so I go back to the first. I open the other side, look up, look down, look back up. Then I saw it. A little red gift bag, sitting up on the shelf… I looked at Chris, then hurried and grabbed it.
Chris then took it from me and said, “Well you can’t open it!” So he takes it out of the bag, this little red box with a ribbon, and just holds it out. I looked at him like, ‘come on already!’ And he said, “Well you gotta untie the ribbon!” So I untie it, and he takes out the grey box. Then opened it, and said, “Kelli, will you marry me?” Without hesitation of course, I said, “Yes!” and gave him a big hug! Then he put my ring on me J It is beautiful, even more beautiful than I imagined in the jewelry store…
I know I’ve said this before, but he is just amazing! Ya, of course we’ve had our ups and downs, but we’ve made it through them and we still love each other more than anything. He is just an awesome guy, and he treats me so well. He makes me laugh, he takes care of me, he tells me I’m beautiful, he opens doors for me, he does the dishes every night, he tells me he love me, he cuddles with me at night…. I just love him, and that’s all there is to it! He makes me happy!
Ok, just one more thing to go over for now. Chris is in Vernal right now, staying with my parents, because he just got the same job as my dad at Savage. He started on the 20th. I am finishing out the month at my job. Then, hopefully, I can move out there right at the end of the year. I have been so torn about this move.
It is good because:
It scares me because
That’s what I got so far anyway, well, that I can think of at the moment. So like I said, it will be good and bad. It will definitely take some getting used to!
He is out there now, I am here, we are hoping to be out of our apartment by the end of the month, we have no place to live out there, I don’t have a job out there, we need to get someone to take over our lease, we need to pay for a bunch of moving expenses, plus probably the deposit for whoever takes over our lease… There is a lot going on right now and it’s pretty stressful!
We do have some people that are interested in taking over our lease. Our neighbor found someone for us. They have been approved and everything, but it scares me because I think they are going to want a little more help getting in there than we can offer right now. They are expected to pay 1st and last months rent, and a 300 deposit, plus I think they have a pet, so that’s another 300 for a pet deposit. I told them that we can pay the 300 deposit for them, but that’s all we’re going to be able to help. So we will see if it actually goes through.
I am going to Vernal tomorrow after work, so I am hoping that I can go walk through some apartments that we found, and hopefully a townhome too. We are hoping to buy a townhome that we found, but rent a month to month apartment until that is finalized. So we’ll see. There are a lot of things that we’re going to have to wait and see what happens.
Some of the pictures are a little bit older, but they're better than nothing!
But hopefully I will keep more up to date on this blog thing. So hopefully you’ll be hearing from me soon! J

Kristin and Chance had their baby! Her name is Addyson Leah, she was born November 3, 2009. She is an adorable baby, and Kristin and Chance have been amazing parents. I love to watch Addyson’s face just light up when they walk into the room. She loves her Mommy and Daddy, and you can see it J
David is currently living with Kristin. He just turned 20 *weird*, and he just started a new job at Musician’s Friend. So he is doing pretty well, he’s still just as big of a goof ball as ever. I freakin love that kid!

¶ We will be closer to Mom, Dad, Kimmy, Kyleigh and Kaitlyn.
¶ I think it will be good for us to get away from everything for a while.
¶ We both think that it will be good as newlyweds to be out there.
¶ I won’t have to work when we have babies.
¶ I won’t need a job, but will get one to pay off debt til we decide to have some kids.
It scares me because
¶ We will be away from Kristin, Chance, Addy, and David.
¶ We will be away from his entire family.
¶ We will be away from friends.
¶ We are comfortable in Salt Lake .
Wow
WOW... I just sat here typing for over an hour, catching up on everything... Then I went to change the font before I posted it and lost everything! UGH I'll try again tomorrow... That is a total bummer though! I had a lot of good stuff in there....
It's late though, and I can't stay up for another hour to do it again :-/
That was frustrating!
